How to Live With Purpose, a Conversation With Larry Hawkins II

How to Live With Purpose, a Conversation With Larry Hawkins II

I’m very excited to share this episode with you, where I have the pleasure and privilege of interviewing Larry Hawkins II, CEO of Hawkins Development Group and author of 5 PRINCIPLES TO A PURPOSEFUL LIFE: How to Move With Purpose and Start Making a Difference.

Larry’s life passion is developing other people. He finds true fulfillment in helping people discover things about themselves that allow them to do more than they thought possible. This is the foundation on which Hawkins Development Group was formed.

I got to meet Larry at a networking happy hour a few months ago, and after talking to him for just a few minutes it was clear we were kindred spirits. Our parallel career paths, beginning in Engineering and then finding a calling and purpose in developing others, and our passion for developing great people in great organizations has made this one of my favorite podcast episodes ever.

I guarantee you’ll be moved by Larry’s story and his refreshing perspectives on purpose, work, and life. You can stream the episode below, or you can Subscribe for easy access to every episode on iTunes, Google Play or Stitcher.

This episode draws from a lot of conversations and many of my own experiences, and in it you’ll get some tactical, actionable tips you can use a la carte to hopefully address your own relationship with overwhelm.

Rebase #dash – Networking for Introverts (and Everyone Else)

Do you classify yourself as an introvert? The good news is that you don’t have to let this limit you in networking, which is the bread and butter of building your career or even starting a new business!

You might prefer smaller groups of people, quieter spaces and yet you can be WHO you ARE and still make the magic of networking happen.

In this Rebase #dash, Elatia will help you with three simple tips to help you *crush* your networking efforts. She’ll also let you know why “networking” is, in fact, a four-letter word.

Or, watch beauty in action:

Lonely at Work

Lonely at Work

In Episode 8, Shaun and Elatia address the loneliness epidemic in the workplace. Stemming from a trending topic on LinkedIn (search #LonelyAtWork) and a Harvard Business Review article written by a former US Surgeon General, we discuss some of the contributing factors to loneliness and how, despite all our technological advances, people feel lonelier than ever at work. We also provide a handful of changes that individuals and leaders should be focused on making in order to address these issues on the ground level.

Rebase #dash – Soliciting Feedback

Quality feedback. It’s critical to our success and growth as professionals, yet so few of us are effective at asking the right questions or receiving the right type of feedback. We ask vague questions, make people uncomfortable and get defensive when we do get the answers we deserve. This Rebase #dash goes over 5 tenants of being effective at soliciting that information.
